Audit Director

Gloucester Circa £90,000 – £115,000

This firm has been building its Gloucestershire audit team with care and they are now at a point where they need a Director who can genuinely lead it. The role carries a real portfolio, a well-structured team beneath it, and Partners who are invested in making this hire work. This is not a firm where you will be an anonymous number on a spreadsheet; it is a practice where your leadership will be visible and your path to Partnership is clear, documented, and well-supported.

The Role

  • Lead a substantial portfolio of audit clients across the local region and wider South West, including owner-managed businesses, corporate groups, and high-growth sectors
  • Take full responsibility for technical quality and high-level file review, supporting managers and seniors with complex areas of judgement and disclosure
  • Play an active part in the recruitment, development, and retention of the Gloucester audit team, acting as a mentor to the next generation of talent
  • Contribute to business development and the growth of the audit service line, identifying opportunities for advisory work within the existing client base
  • Work closely with the regional Partners on succession planning and the strategic development of the audit function

About You

  • Qualified, with significant post-qualification experience in a practice audit environment
  • Currently operating at Director or Senior Manager level with a genuine track record of team leadership and portfolio management
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS, with the ability to advise clients on complex reporting requirements
  • A calm, credible senior presence with the interpersonal skills to manage board-level client relationships and develop your people
  • Commercially aware and interested in the growth of the firm's presence in the Gloucestershire market
